Faia Younan

Faia Younan is a Syrian-Assyrian singer and songwriter, born in 1992 and raised largely in Sweden after her family left Syria. She broke through in 2015 with the crowdfunded debut single Ohebbou Yadayka, a campaign so successful it earned a Guinness World Record as the first Middle Eastern artist to crowdfund a debut. Her music blends poetic, often classical Arabic lyrics with modern arrangements and traditional oriental instruments. She has released the albums A Sea Between Us, Tales of the Heart, and Aswatna, and in 2024 won the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Prize for best sung poetry.
