Biography
Radiodervish is a Mediterranean world-music group formed in 1997 by Palestinian vocalist Nabil Salameh and Italian bassist Michele Lobaccaro, who met as university students in Italy. Their music blends Arabic and Italian, along with English, Spanish, and French, into songs about displacement, migration, and the search for home. They draw inspiration from Persian poetry and the spiritual and mythological imagery of Mediterranean history. Their debut album Lingua Contra Lingua won a Premio Ciampi, and they gained wider international attention with Centro del Mundo in 2002.
