Iness Mezel

Iness Mezel, born Fatiha Messaoudi to a Kabyle-Algerian father and a French-Italian mother, is a French-Algerian singer-songwriter who splits her identity between Paris and her Kabyle roots. Her multicultural sound fuses funk, soul, and jazz with Amazigh and Berber melodies and lyrics. After studying law and taking classical and jazz vocal training in Paris, she joined the backing group of Algerian artist Djur Djura before launching her own career across several studio albums. She has become a notable voice in the international Amazigh music scene, working alongside legends such as Idir.
