Al Shami, born Abdul Rahman Fawaz in Damascus in 2002, is a Syrian singer who has become one of the fastest-rising voices in Levantine pop. He blends classic Arabic melody with contemporary production, giving his romantic, emotionally direct songs a distinctly modern edge. His 2023 breakout Ya Leil W Yal Ein turned him into an overnight sensation, and subsequent singles have amassed tens of millions of plays across the Arab world. He has built a large young following while positioning himself as a defining voice of Arab Gen Z.
