Rayess Bek is the stage name of Wael Koudaih, a Lebanese rapper, composer, and performer regarded as one of the pioneers of Arabic hip hop. Born in Lebanon and raised partly in France during the civil war, he began writing rhymes in French before becoming one of the first MCs in the region to rap in Arabic. Over a long career he has released numerous albums and performed hundreds of concerts worldwide, using his music to confront corruption, war, and social injustice. He also leads the acclaimed audiovisual project Love & Revenge, which reworks classic Arab cinema and song through live electronics.

Rayess Bek's trio Love & Revenge is touring a new visual concert, Agmal Layali (The Most Beautiful Nights), which fuses the tarab of Umm Kulthum with drum machines, synths, and electric oud, with a 2026 performance scheduled at Zurich's Rote Fabrik.
