Arab and Middle Eastern artists based in the United States, from Dearborn to New York and Los Angeles.

Arab America is older than most people assume. The Detroit area has had a substantial Arab population for a century, and Arabic-language record labels were operating in New York in the 1920s, pressing records for Levantine immigrants long before anyone used the word diaspora about them.

The contemporary picture is different in kind. These are largely artists who grew up bilingual, working in hip hop, R&B and electronic music, treating Arabic as one voice among several rather than as the default one.
