Saint Levant, the stage name of Marwan Abdelhamid, is a Palestinian singer and rapper born in Jerusalem in 2000 to a Palestinian-Serbian father and an Algerian-French mother. He spent seven childhood years in Gaza before his family was displaced to Jordan, and later studied in the United States, experiences that shaped the diaspora sensibility running through his work. Performing fluidly in Arabic, French, and English, he blends R&B, hip-hop, and funk with Palestinian and Algerian influences such as rai. He broke through in 2022 with the viral single Very Few Friends and became one of the most visible young Arab artists internationally, drawing wide attention for a 2024 Coachella performance. His debut studio album DEIRA followed in 2024, and he has since toured extensively while remaining an outspoken advocate for Palestine.
