Bu Nasser Touffar

Bu Nasser Touffar is a Lebanese rapper and writer from Baalbek whose work gives voice to a marginalized and impoverished society. He began in 2009 with the group album As’hab El Ard (Land’s Owner) and, after going solo, adopted the name Bu Nasser to signal that his outspoken support for the Syrian revolution and opposition to Hezbollah were his own personal stance. His anti-establishment lyrics and social commentary became anthems during Lebanon’s popular protests, making him a defining voice of Levantine political rap. Now based in Istanbul, he continues to release music and tour internationally.
