Tamer Nafar

Tamer Nafar is a Palestinian rapper, actor and screenwriter, born in 1979 in Lod, and a founding figure of Arabic hip-hop. With his brother Suhell and friend Mahmoud Jreri he formed DAM, the first Palestinian hip-hop group, whose breakout track Meen Erhabi (Who’s the Terrorist?) circulated widely and established them as a generational voice. Rapping in Arabic, Hebrew and English, he built a body of work centered on Palestinian identity, discrimination and daily life under occupation. He also co-wrote and starred in the film Junction 48, which won awards at the Berlin and Tribeca festivals.
