Salim Zahra

Salim Zahra is a Lebanese bass guitarist, session musician, and music educator from Tripoli. He began performing in the late 1990s with local bands including Rebels, Neoblood, and Solitaire, and in 1999 founded the Solitaire Music School to help train a new generation of players. Over his career he has worked as the official bassist for Ragheb Alama and Haifa Wehbe and as a session player for artists such as Kazem El Saher and Walid Toufic, and in 2013 he released his solo album Illusions. Since relocating to Canada in 2018 he has toured extensively across Canada and the United States and become a member of ensembles including the Canadian Arabic Orchestra, while teaching guitar and bass at the Canadian Arabic Conservatory of Music.
