Kinematik

Kinematik are an instrumental rock ensemble from Lebanon, originally formed in 2014 around a core trio before expanding into a six-piece in 2020. Rooted in the mountain village of Reyfoun, their music moves between 1970s psychedelia, progressive rock, and post-rock, layering saturated guitars with modular synthesizers and motorik grooves. Their debut album Ala’ was recorded in 2017 and released on the Beirut label Ruptured, followed by Murur Al-Kiram and the ensemble record Al Jadi. The band is often mentioned alongside touchstones like Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Can for their improvisational, slow-building approach.
