Takh is an Egyptian band whose name evokes the sound of a crash or a gunshot but whose songs are funny, groovy, and sharply satirical about the concerns of young Egyptians. The project brings together Ezz Shahwan on bass and guitars, Yousra El Gendy on vocals and lyrics, and Gamal Fahim on production. Unusually for the Egyptian scene, they mix English words and phrases into their Arabic songs. Their groove-driven, comic sensibility has won them a large online following.
