Hawa Dafi

Hawa Dafi is a Syrian band based in Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights, built around a seven-piece lineup and a sound the group calls Gypsy Rock. Their music draws in equal measure from Eastern musical tradition and the broader body of Western rock, with strong currents of reggae and jazz. Fronted by vocalist Haneen Ayoub, the band released its debut album Our Story in 2015, a twelve-track collection produced by Palestinian percussionist Samer Jadarat. They have performed at local and international festivals and collaborated with artists from Tunisia to Norway.
