Haya Zaatry

Haya Zaatry is a Palestinian singer-songwriter, composer, architect, and researcher, born in Nazareth in 1991 and based in Haifa. Her self-taught music blends Arabic songwriting with an indie, cosmic Levantine sound, centering feminist and decolonial narratives and collective memory. She co-founded Eljam, a non-profit project supporting the Palestinian underground music scene. Her album Rahawan, named after her great-great-grandmother, was inspired by a family passport that connected Damascus and Palestine, and explores the interwoven geography of the Levant.
