Biography
Hindi Zahra is a Moroccan-French singer-songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist, born in 1979 in Khouribga, Morocco, who took her stage name by inverting her birth name. Her music draws on Berber music, soul, jazz, blues, and world influences, sung in Arabic, English, and French. After moving to Paris she began writing songs while working at the Louvre, compiling a debut EP in 2005. Her album Handmade won the Prix Constantin, and in 2011 she took the Victoires de la Musique award for best world music album.
