Zeid Hamdan

Zeid Hamdan is a Lebanese musician and producer widely regarded as one of the architects of the Middle Eastern independent music scene. Born in Beirut in 1976 and shaped by years in Paris, he co-founded Soapkills with Yasmine Hamdan around the turn of the millennium, pioneering a regional indie sound that married rock with electronic music. He went on to lead projects including The New Government and Zeid and the Wings and to produce and mentor a wide range of Arab artists through his Lebanese Underground imprint. His catalogue was later acquired by PopArabia and Reservoir.
