Lynn Adib is a Syrian singer, composer and improviser from Damascus whose work weaves together jazz, Arabic tradition and sacred musical forms. She began singing at the age of six in Damascus and was steeped in Byzantine chant before studying flute at the National Conservatory, where she discovered jazz. After moving to France in 2009 she trained in jazz at the Paris Conservatoire, reshaping her identity around modern Arabic music sung through a jazz lens. Her many projects include the Lynn Adib Quartet, Nearness, Yalla Queen and the duo Bedouin Burger.
