Nadah El Shazly

Nadah El Shazly is an Egyptian-Canadian singer, composer, and producer, originally from Cairo and later based in Montreal, whose music fuses Egyptian traditions with experimental electronics. She came up through Cairo’s punk and electronica scenes, fronting a Misfits covers band as a teenager before releasing her acclaimed debut album Ahwar in 2017. She has since scored films and collaborated widely, appearing on the cover of The Wire in an issue heralding Cairo’s new wave. Her second solo album, Laini Tani, arrived in 2025.
