Munma is the electronic project of Lebanese producer Jawad Nawfal, begun in the aftermath of the 2006 war on Lebanon. His music explores oriental harmonies and rhythms over sampled traditional beds and archival speech, in a somber, reflective mood that became a landmark of Lebanese electronica. Early EPs like 34 Days, Black Tuesday, and Unholy Republic were recorded during and after the 2006 conflict. He has collaborated with rapper El Rass and continued releasing solo work including Three Voices and Transient Organ.
